This is a Full-time position in Saint-Laurent, QC posted July 6, 2017.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

  • Develop a solid business plan, including strong promotional programs, and identify business opportunities; 
  • Secure company position in the marketplace as well as guarantee the bottom line profitability; 
  • Manage inventory within set sales margins; 
  • Continuously search for new items / categories to add to bottom line; 
  • Develop and style, (with the help of designer), new products for their specific depts. on a seasonal basis;
  • Build a strong vendor relationship; 
  • Negotiations all purchase prices, terms, and deliveries; 
  • Place and approve all purchase orders and repeat orders base on assortment plan; 
  • Supervise Assistant Buyer;
  • Travel to China for development, Europe and the US (as needed dependent on product category);   

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • DEC or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Fashion Merchandising, or equivalent retail experience;
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role; 
  • Excellent leader with a strong sense of retail, resource planning, forecasting, and product trends; 
  • Strong negotiation, and presentation skills; 
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills; 
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite, SAP experience is an asset ; 
  • Strong communication skills in English and French (both verbal and written); 
  • Strong organizational time-management skills, meticulous, and detail oriented; 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including coaching and training; 
  • Valid passport and ability to travel;
