We are hiring an Analyst, Customer Analytics

The Customer Analyst will play a key role in understanding the needs and behaviours of our customers in order to influence spend and drive Loyalty. He/She will assist in building customer segmentations and other foundational analysis tools; and will track and report on key customer and loyalty trends.

Duties:

  • Validate, refresh and maintain existing customer segmentations and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Design and build new customer segmentations using advanced statistical techniques and numerous data sources.
  • Analyze drivers of growth of customer spend. Perform additional customer analysis as needed, such as strategic reviews of category performance using customer insight to explain trends and identify key products. Support the department’s and the company’s strategic initiatives through analysis
  • Work with multiple cross functional teams to drive the use of customer insights into day to day business
  • Identify flyer promotions that have high customer reach and deliver significant incremental sales. Collaborate with Category Management to increase the reach and appeal of the front page of the flyer.
  • Track/report customer and loyalty metrics/KPIs
  • Use initiative to identify and deliver process efficiency savings. For example, automate repetitive reporting tasks to make the team more productive and our partners functions self sufficient.

Skills and Experience:

  • Required: Post Secondary education equivalent to a university degree in numerate or analytical discipline such as Mathematics, Science, Engineering etc
  • 2-3 years experience using advanced SAS programming techniques such as clustering, macros, regression, etc., in a retail-loyalty context
  • Has the ability to unite complex sources of customer information such as till transactions, contextual data and market research data into actionable insight. Able to tell the story behind the numbers in a compelling fashion
  • Able to query relational databases using business intelligence software such as Microstrategy and directly using SQL. Able to design reports / dashboards and oversee their development.
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
