Director, Operational Efficiency and Change Management ( Predictive Modeler)

The Director, Operational Efficiency and Change Management (Predictive Modeler) will work directly with the VP, Operations and Clinical to monitor and make strategic recommendations around labour, site by site scheduling, prioritization of initiatives and role of our initiatives. Concurrently, the incumbent is responsible for making data driven tactical recommendations based on changing conditions such as changing implementation schedules and other external factors. The role will requires financial acumen along with experience in developing elegant predictive models for demand planning, labour and other key metrics.The incumbent will be expected to maintain clear line of sight across MediSystem departments and across multiple initiatives, and have ownership and accountability for reaching our efficiency targets in 2017 and beyond.

What You’ll Do:

    • Design and maintain accurate and meaningful predictive labour and financial models
    • Predict labour requirements in a complex environment with homes onboarding and offboarding
    • Predict the benefit of various actions including, but not limited to, implementing technical solutions, implementing scheduling solutions and labour mix solutions, and/or hours of operation changes to determine the ideal combination of factors per site and the optimal order of implementation across the network to maximize operating leverage while concurrently ensuring patient safety and customer experience is not compromised.
    • The incumbent must continually review his/her models against actual outcomes to identify if targets are being achieved as well as ensure the models themselves are continually improving and becoming more accurate
    • Identify the impact associated with efficiency initiatives; determine risk, including labour risk, customer risk, patient safety risk as well as reputational risk. For risks identified complete impact assessments and develop comprehensive risk mitigation plans.
    • Devise change management strategies to address risk; includes actively working with the the MediSystem leadership team to determine tactics leading up until, during, and post significant changes. Also work with site manager and others as required through the change process
    • Provide clear and timely information including labour and financial recommendations as well as risk mitigation and change management recommendations to senior leadership including but not limited to the MediSystem VP, Operations & Clinical, the VP, Sales & Marketing as well as the SVP, Healthcare Businesses
    • Work with Shared Services teams within the larger Loblaw and Shoppers Drug Mart organization, including IT, Finance and HR to ensure that strategies can be committed to and critical milestones met

    What You’ll Need:

    • Post-secondary education equivalent to a university degree in Business Administration or related experience
    • 5-7 years’ experience with creating mathematical models/predictive modeling and analytical experience at a senior level
    • Statistical experience an asset
    • Ability to present complex information in a clear and logical way
    • Change management experience
    • Project management experience an asset
    • CPA an asset
    • Risk modeling experience an asset
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Computer skills: working knowledge of office software, spreadsheets and databases
    • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills
    • Strong time management and organizational skills required
    • Travel up to 25% of time
