THE ROLE
Under the supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, the Aquatics Supervisor assists with the planning, organizing, and coordinating of the delivery of Base/Wing/Unit (B/W/U) aquatic programs. They assist with developing and amending policies and procedures. The Aquatics Supervisor monitors, evaluates and recommends improvements to the B/W/U aquatic programs. They supervise and instruct aquatic training sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Physical Sciences, or a related field and some years of experience in aquatics or a related field
OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience will also be considered
Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification
HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport
HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children
Experience
In evaluating, planning, preparing, organizing, conducting and coordinating the delivery of aquatic programs
In instructing training sessions
In employee supervision
In applying policies, procedures and regulations
In supervising the work of volunteers
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
