Asset Protection Specialist, Retail

Job Description Reporting to the Senior Manager of Retail, the Asset Protection Specialist will be responsible for the development, the implementation and the improvement of programs, policies and procedures to minimize the loss of merchandise, cash flow, company assets including the health and safety aspect within the omni-channel model of Retail.

The Asset Protection Specialist will provide oversight and training to all employees while strategizing with the Leadership Team and Business Partners.

The candidate will foster a positive work environment that embraces SSENSE brand values and achieves both company and financial objectives.

Responsibilities Communication
– 10% Act as a liaison in coordinating business activities (installations, schedules, etc.) with partners, vendors and security.

Work closely with Security Specialists, Real Estate, Fraud, Warehouse, Human Resources Business Partners and all levels of store management to ensure that all aspects of asset protection are in compliance with company standards.

Assist with Retail cross divisional initiatives, projects and committees.

Process Improvement
– 30% Analyze, forecast, and create action plans to achieve shortage reduction and operational compliance through all retail channels in partnership with Retail leadership.

Identify loss prevention opportunities, develop and manage business continuity plans to reduce losses and optimize overall physical and online processes for retail through accuracy and effectiveness.

Develop Retail Asset Protection Programs through tools, protocols and audit compliance guidelines to drive awareness and strategic initiatives, in partnership with the Real Estate team.

– 50% Leverage data, identify, adopt and integrate the latest technologies, by driving continuous improvement in fraud prevention processes.

Analyse, log and resolve alleged and actual theft, violations of policy, and compliance with the Retail Asset Protection program including but not limited to all internal and external investigations.

Conduct daily/weekly/monthly audits on retail initiatives relating to building security, inventory control, compliance, and awareness.

Actively participate in the Health & Safety committee and act as the Store Liaison on the matter, in partnership with the Health and Safety team.

Conduct internal investigations as required with confidentiality.

Respond to emergencies in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate follow up reporting.

– 10% Ensure the store team and business partners are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skill sets.

Design, develop, maintain and lead training programs specific to fraud prevention, employee awareness and health & safety.

Qualifications A minimum of 5 years professional experience in fraud prevention in a high volume client-facing environment and retail operations Experience dealing with emergency situations (theft, first aid, fire alarms) Provincial guarding certificate an asset Must be currently certified in First Aid/ CPR Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Flexible schedule required, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as per business needs Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting and other activities necessary to perform job duties Must be able to lift and carry 20lbs.

Experience in using physical and e-commerce security systems (CCTV, EAS, alarm, access control, lock, key, POS, Online transaction, etc.) Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English Proven experience establishing trusting relationships in a multi-channel environment Kinesic interview techniques or other interviewing/interrogation training an asset Skills Entrepreneurial, autonomous and organized with an eye for detail Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Highly competent with technology and mobile applications Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
