THE ROLE
In this role you will be an instrumental member of the team that will transition from our current siloed and manual data, information and records keeping processes to one integrated framework for managing all the information we produce. The successful candidate will have skills and experience in both the data and information fields as well as leading transformational efforts. Past success in implementing change will be essential, as this position will drive the evolution of how our employees and stakeholders, create, share, store, archive and dispose of data and information assets regardless of their location or medium.
In this role you will guide the organization through processes that will ensure the protection of our strategic information assets to maximize their value in the service of our members, veterans and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) community.
This includes leading the development and implementation of a data and information governance framework, which provides a shared overarching enterprise approach to the governance and management of data and information, including records at CFMWS. The framework defines the vision, principles and regulatory obligations of the management of this information assets. It also defines the roles, responsibilities and decision rights for the governance and the lifecycle requirements to enable Data and Information management across our divisions. The successful candidate will be expected to design and manage the product work streams, processes, protocols, policies and technology projects to support the governance and management of its data and information assets.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline AND several years of experience in information management and data administration
AND
Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification, an asset
Information Governance Professional certification, an asset
Experience
In systems analysis and implementation
In managing data architecture and information management lifecycle design

In developing, interpreting, implementing and applying policies, procedures, and relevant legislation

OTHER INFORMATION
This position will allow for any of the work options listed below:
On-site position with an assigned work location.
Hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
Remote position. The employee must reside and work from anywhere within Canada. In accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, by presenting your candidacy for this role, you confirm that you meet this criteria.
