THE ROLE
The Childminder plans and organizes children’s activities. They provide care for children and tend to the safety and well-being of the children. They document and communicate any incidents, accidents or damage.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma AND some years of experience in a child care environment
AND
Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
HIGH FIVE: Principles of Healthy Child Development certificate, an asset
Experience
In working with children
In providing care and guidance to children
In leading activities for children
In ensuring safety protocols and procedures
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Bilingual Essential, Bilingual an asset
Reading: Basic
Writing: Basic
Oral: Functional
