What will your typical day look like?

The M&A Consultant is an integral part of the project team, delivering on our clients’ initiatives throughout the M&A lifecycle.

Consultants are required to work closely with team leaders and our clients to deliver high quality analysis and insights across a range of different activities, including data analysis, assessment of current and target states, roadmap development, and program management.

Consultants will have multiple responsibilities, and are expected to contribute to the firm’s growth and development in a variety of ways: Engagement delivery : Support team leaders by conducting key portions of analysis and contributing to client presentations; deliver on-time, high-quality engagement work products Stakeholder management : Participate in business development activities; be an active member of pursuit teams while supporting proposal content development Practice development and eminence : Support the creation of practical solutions and methodologies; help develop ”thoughtware” and ”point of view” documents; support industry and eminence events sponsored by the firm About the team Deloitte’s M&A Consulting practice delivers comprehensive consulting services and comprises Strategy, Operations, Finance, Human Capital, and Technology experts.

Our practitioners are involved in all phases of the M&A lifecycle, including strategy, operational readiness, due diligence, pre
– and post-close integration/separation planning and execution, and follow-on transformation.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you As a Consultant, you have: A bachelor’s degree and 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role in consulting or industry (or a master’s degree in a relevant field of study) Strong analytical and organizational skills, supported by a fluency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and the ability to create and manage financial models The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous and changing requirements The ability to articulate leading business issues and trends Demonstrated capabilities in one or more key areas including, but not limited to: Target operating/business model design and implementation Organization design and transition Communications and change management IT synergies/cost reduction Finance operations transformation And experience in: Developing materials for, and supporting, workshops for clients or senior internal decision makers Identifying key client business issues, determining client needs, evaluating and validating analyses, and developing recommendations and high-quality deliverables Guiding clients on key concepts and strategies for M&A engagements including, but not limited to, stranded cost analyses, demanding timelines, business continuity during transformation, and synergy identification and capture Developing and presenting proposals for business development activities Developing materials for, and supporting, workshops for clients or senior internal decision makers Identifying key client business issues, determining client needs, evaluating and validating analyses, and developing recommendations and high-quality deliverables Guiding clients on key concepts and strategies for M&A engagements including, but not limited to, stranded cost analyses, demanding timelines, business continuity during transformation, and synergy identification and capture Developing and presenting proposals for business development activities Why Deloitte?
