Reports to: Manager, Brand Partnerships & Retail Application Deadline: November 21, 2022 EMPLOYMENT TYPE Type of Position: Full-Time Start Date: January 9, 2022 Hours of work: Canada Basketball’s regular hours of work are 40 hours per week, namely Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day and 5 days a week.

OVERVIEW Canada Basketball is the national governing body for amateur basketball in Canada.

Located in Toronto, Canada Basketball is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is “We aspire to excellence in leading the growth and development of the game at home, and in pursuing medal performances on the international stage”.

Reporting to the Manager, Brand Partnerships and Retail, the Coordinator, will assist, coordinate, implement and execute Partner agreements with the goal of achieving partner and organizational objectives.

Working collaboratively with members of all Canada Basketball’s departments to ensure all partner deliverables are met.

This position is also responsible for assisting with the management of Canada Basketball’s online and event retail strategy.

As a member of Canada Basketball’s Business Operations team, this position will also provide support on Events, Marketing Initiatives, and the Canada Basketball Foundation’s efforts, when required, and when overall workload allows.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Partnerships (55%)
· Provide general and administrative support to the Manager, Brand Partnerships & Retail
· Support the Manager, Brand Partnerships & Retail in creating pitches for new prospective partnerships, upselling to current partners, and developing new sellable inventory of CB assets.

· Develop a deep understanding of partner’s business objectives and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on those objectives.

· Day-to-day account management including approval of partner deliverables while continually seeking to elevate the partnership
· Proactively track, manage, and ensure all of CB partner contractual obligations are satisfied
· Work collaboratively across the CB team throughout all stages of partnership development – planning, ideation, and production – to ensure that work is aligned with the partner’s direction
· Liaise with key stakeholders and build strong working relationships within and outside the organization
· Develop and present detailed post-mortems on programs, events and year-end reports partnership reports that include comprehensive business intelligence results
· Demonstrate resilience and adapt to evolving plans and strategies; you have the ability to find solutions along with the internal team and know when to escalate for resolution Retail (45%)
·Assist Manager, Brand Partnerships & Retail with CB’s day-to-day retail operations, online store and on-site event merchandising
·
· Manage the retail inventory as part CBs e-commerce and event retail strategy
·
· Collaborate with third-party webstore hosting partner to manage CB’s online store including promotions, product strategy, customer service and order fulfillment
·
· Build and execute retail promotional strategies and social campaigns that align with CB’s marketing initiatives and team/brand activations
·
· Assist with the various on-site merchandising operations at CB events and external retailing opportunities
·
· Communicate with and handle vendor and retail stakeholder relationships
·
· Stay current with topics and trends related to best practices across all retail types, especially sports and entertainment
·
· Track metrics using KPIs and produce retail reports that drive retail strategy and tactics
·
· Support in the setting of and delivery of retail revenue goals
·
· Manage Canada Basketball gift-in-kind donation program
·
· Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
· Post-secondary degree or diploma in Sports Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; preferably in a sport and/or marketing-related discipline
· 1-2 years’ work experience in marketing, corporate sales, strategy, partnership marketing and/or sponsorship (agency,client, or property side)
· Minimum of 1-2 years with a sports or entertainment property, promotional, advertising or sponsorship sales agency
· Minimum of 2-3 years with a retailer or merchandiser, vendor, or wholesaling retailer
· Bilingualism considered an asset
· Creative design or experience with graphic design software’s (i.e., Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, etc.) is considered a strong asset
· Results oriented with an ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, remain detail oriented, and multi-task effectively in a dynamic and service-oriented team environment
· Energetic, self-motivated, ambitious, and possessing a growth mindset and a winning attitude with the ability to inspire others to support and advocate for positive change
· Knowledge and advance understanding of software applications like Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
· Knowledge of Canada Basketball organization and the game of basketball
· Knowledge of general marketing and partnerships principles, vocabulary and strategies
· Strategic knowledge and experience with current social media tools and e-commerce or website maintenance
· Ability to multi-task and handle evolving priorities

· Available to work evenings and weekends as required / when applicable
