THE ROLE

The Finance Business Partner provides financial management on the corporate and divisional entities within CFMWS. It is all about enabling your clients to make informed decisions. The main goal of a Finance Business Partner is to create an active partnership with both operations and management and provide real time financial support that has an impact. They prepare monthly financial reports including variance analysis on budget vs. actual, initiating adjustments, and presenting results to management. They develop and recommend solutions for resource funding allocation and management. They use financial software applications and ensure compliance to financial policy and application of departmental and organizational processes and procedures. This role also plays an active part for the annual 3rd party audit to produce the financial statements.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field AND several years of experience in accounting, financial management or a related field

AND

Professional accounting designation such as CA, CGA, CMA, an asset

Experience

In budget administration

In preparing business plans

In forecasting and budget setting process

In expenditure and resource management control

In financial analysis

In developing, preparing, and revising financial management reports

In interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and/or relevant legislation and regulations

In maintaining accounting systems and reporting tools, an asset

In developing and implementing solutions for finance and accounting issues

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English or French Essential, Bilingual an asset

Reading: Functional Level

Writing: Functional Level

Oral: Advanced Level

OTHER INFORMATION

This position has an assigned location and may allow flexible work options such as remote or hybrid work but the employee must be able to report to the assigned work location at their own cost if required. Remote work may be required depending on health and safety considerations.
