THE ROLE
Under the supervision of the National Manager Health Promotion, and in close collaboration with key stakeholders from the Canadian Armed Forces and the Department of National Defence, you will empower Health Promotion teams on bases and wings across the country so that they may deliver evidence-informed services to local military members. This includes: creating opportunities for cross-pollination, and sharing of local successes and innovation between teams; drafting guidelines and procedures to facilitate the delivery of evidence-informed health promotion programs in accordance with CAF Surgeon General policies and standards; monitoring training needs across 24 teams of health promoters; and working with program partners to implement and coordinate solutions addressing training needs across various health promotion action areas.
Other responsibilities will include: preparing reports on health promotion delivery activities, current and emerging service delivery trends, and professional development opportunities; preparing work plans, progress reports, and expenditure projections for areas of responsibility; and supervising Health Promotion coordination staff.
Through strong leadership, innovative thinking, a collaborative approach, and a solid understanding of the social determinants of health, you will play a key role in empowering Health Promotion field staff remove barriers to health and wellness within their respective communities so that military members across the country may thrive.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Health Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field AND several years of experience in managing the delivery of health services or projects
Experience
