What You’ll Do: Partner with the Category Director (CD) to manage a dynamic food business: Salad Dressings, Pickles, Vinegars Think and act like an entrepreneur: building a business, delivering financial results, developing winning programs Build category plans that satisfy the needs of our customers and deliver against our category budget Use data-driven insights (decision tree, interaction, correlation, optimization, loyalty) to strengthen category performance Manage the promotional program from end-to-end: quarterly planning, financial performance, pricing decisions, vendor interaction, flyer proofing, and post-mortem reviews Provide ongoing insight in the competitive landscape of your portfolio: be well-versed in best-in-industry benchmarking (pricing, assortment, merchandising, promotional activity etc.) Lead vendor meetings, namely, the Quarterly Planning sessions and support the CD in tracking vendor performance (including vendor income) Support the CD in assortment optimization and planogram strategy; support our Associate Merchant, Space Planning and Supply Chain in planogram execution Provide leadership to the growing collaboration between our Merchandise Planning teams, Discount, Control Brand, Supply Chain, Loyalty, Digital and Media counterparts to advance the goals of the category Evaluate new product and/or platform innovation and support the CD and Control Brand teams in product innovation and program development Proudly represent our category within the Market Division What You’ll Need: A love for food, and a passion for selling A curious mindset and positive, self-motivated attitude An engaging communication style with strong influencing skills Undisputed analytical strength: a proven track record for generating insights and strong financial acumen Experience in Excel, MicroStrategy, Precima and Nielsen Insight Studio
