THE ROLE
The Military Family Services Program Coordinator will assist families with relocation and settlement, assess clients’ situations to provide information, assistance, coaching, emotional support and/or referral as well as act as a community service Subject Matter Expert (SME) for families with intricate needs, working in collaboration with the CAF, local community agencies and external partnership agencies to ensure families receive the required supports.
The Military Family Services Program Coordinator will perform outreach/warm-line calls to CAF family members, as required as well as support self-help group development through facilitation, presentations and/or information sharing, engaging clinical support, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College Diploma in Social Services, Mental Health, Human Services, or a related field.
AND
Several years of experience in direct community service delivery.
Experience
In working with a cross-section of the community
In conducting client needs assessments and life coaching
In developing and delivering information sessions
In establishing, sustaining and fostering a network of community contacts and partnerships
In preparing and implementing multi-media social marketing campaigns
In creating visual aids and marketing support material
In data entry, record-keeping and retrieval techniques
In organizing, implementing and evaluating programs
In applying policies, procedures and regulations
In developing and facilitating self-help and support groups
In providing emotional support
In client case management
In budget administration
