Senior Applications Developer

THE ROLE

As a Senior Application Developer, you manage the design, development and implementation of applications, such as internal applications and off-the-shelf applications. You review and evaluate business solutions in consideration of corporate strategy and business objectives.

The Senior Application Developer advise management and colleagues on industry trends and standards in the areas of software procurement, development, implementation and maintenance. Remain current with new technology and recommend changes to the user environment. You will also provide technical expertise, information, advice and guidance to the developers.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Software Development, Computer Programming or a related field AND several years of experience in software development, support and maintenance

Experience

  • In Microsoft Azure. Including but not limited to migrating infrastructure to the cloud, developing and setting up environment in Azure (Extensive)

  • In developing and implementing Azure DevOps (Extensive)
  • Process automation
  • In full Lifecycle Application development – end-to-end development of software applications and systems from design through development, testing, deployments and maintenance (Extensive)
  • In design, development and maintenance of key front-end, back-end and middleware components in the application stack
  • In implementing, configuring and using tools for source code control, development and deployment
  • In managing the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • In managing the implementation of software development projects
  • In server management
  • In applying policies, procedures, and regulations

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

  • Microsoft Azure DevOps tool set (extensive)
  • Microsoft Azure cloud
  • Client focus, organizational knowledge, innovation and leadership.
  • Strong communication and team player skills.
  • ASP.NET, .NET CORE, MVC, C#,vb, Bootstrap, razor, JavaScript
  • WebAPI (REST)/XML/SOAP/IIS
  • Mobile development (an asset)
  • Angular and Angular Framework
  • SQL Database Server

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English or French Essential, Bilingual an asset

  • This position has an assigned location and may allow flexible work options such as remote or hybrid work, but the employee must be able to report to the assigned work location at their own cost if required. Remote work may be required depending on health and safety considerations.
