THE ROLE
Under the Direction of the Director Financial Planning and Analysis, they coordinate and provide guidance and analysis on division Business Plans budgets. They perform review of corporate public accounts financial reports and prepare expenditures forecast. They interpret and evaluate financial results and positions in terms of operating results and budget variances. They provide recommendations to senior management to resolve potential funding issues or to reduce costs and improve financial performance. They provide guidance to management on the Publick Fund policies and ensure compliance with Public Fund policies on Delegation of Financial Signing Authorities, Contracting and Hospitality for the programs and services funded by Department of National Defence (DND) Public Fund.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field AND several years of experience in accounting, financial management or a related field
AND
Professional accounting designation such as CA, CGA, CMA, an asset
Experience
In CAF / DND Public Sector Accounting, an asset
In writing business plans
In forecasting and budget setting processes
In producing financial statements
In excellent communication
In financial administration
In interpreting and applying policies, procedures and regulations
In developing and implementing solutions for finance/accounting issues
In reviewing and analyzing financial data/reports
In personnel administration

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English or French Essential, Bilingual an asset
This is a bilingual position with a Second Language Profile of 3 (Advance) for Reading Comprehension, 2 (Functional) for Written expression and 3 (Advanced) for Oral interaction. We will assess your second language skills upon hire and in the event that you do not meet this linguistic profile, you will be required to undertake second language training determined by the Employer as a condition of employment.

OTHER INFORMATION
This position has an assigned location and may allow flexible work options such as remote or hybrid work but the employee must be able to report to the assigned work location at their own cost if required. Remote work may be required depending on health and safety considerations.
