Senior Product Manager – Safety and Security

Worker Sub-Type: Regular Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Product Manager with significant expertise in an embedded software environment to join our BlackBerry QNX Product Management team.

This role will focus on functional safety and security software products and services in the automotive and general embedded markets.

You must possess a strong technical background and have recent experience in an automotive or general embedded device environment.

If you do not have a solid and proven embedded software background and a passion for functional safety and security (e.g.

ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ISO 21434), this position is likely not for you.

This role is a combination of your classic product management and product marketing responsibilities.

Responsibilities include the planning, implementation and/or definition of successful product plans and programs including creation of market requirement documents, sales enablement tools, product launches and ongoing customer engagements in support of the BlackBerry QNX field sales teams for our safety certified products and services.

The role is based Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES Work with Engineering, Legal, Finance and other groups to manage the BlackBerry QNX functional safety and security product releases from inception to general availability, participating and leading cross-functional initiatives as required Engage with external and internal stakeholders to perform market and customer needs analysis to develop market opportunity assessments and business model proposals to aid product investment decisions Articulate and champion the value proposition for our functional safety and security products and services to customers and key external stakeholders Develop the sales tools (white papers, presentations, web content, competitive analysis etc) that support the selling process Product launch planning and execution to ensure the product is effectively introduced to the market including a full NPI Prime liaison for required licensing and contracts related to the product and/or segment Prime for Webinars, tradeshows, customer / prospect tours, other outbound events ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical degree or diploma program You must have recent embedded software experience with ARM or x86-based embedded devices Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g.

ISO 26262, IEC 61508) and/or security standards (e.g.

ISO 21434) Product management experience for automotive electronic systems and/or other embedded devices Minimum of 5 years of full-time embedded software development experience with C, C++ Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or technical marketing roles ADDITIONAL ASSETS: Proven ability to work and engage with world-class engineering talent Strong verbal, written, project management, and interpersonal communication skills as well as strong customer service orientation are required Strong technical background to be able to successfully engage with automotive and general embedded customers LI-TT1 Job Family Group Name: Product Development Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
