THE ROLE
The Corporate Social Media Specialist will work within the Marketing and Communications team to help lead the organization’s strategic social media efforts by planning, developing, publishing and measuring social media content (text, visuals, photo, videos) across a variety of platforms, ensuring content aligns with the social media strategy and business goals. They conduct social media research and make recommendations to maximize and enhance the social media strategy. They develop, edit, and publish social media content across a variety of platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, along with growing presence on new channels where it makes strategic sense. They work with the Marketing and Communications team as well as Division Subject Matter Experts to develop and maintain a social media content calendar, establish presence on social media by maintaining relationships via communications/interactions with followers and working to build engagement and achieve goals and objectives. They provide recommendations on new initiatives or emerging social media opportunities to build brand awareness, grow engagement, and achieve business goals. We are looking for someone who can help transform the organization’s social media capabilities. This is role that would help implement and enhance our strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Social Media, Communications, or a related field AND some years of experience in social media, marketing, communications, or in a related field
Experience
In communication techniques
In producing social media content
In search engine optimization
In social media marketing across different mediums
In using social media analytics tools
In project management
In using social media management platforms such as Hootsuite, Facebook Business Manager, Google Data Studio, an asset
